Subway and Canal Street

After we got off the ferry we didn't really have a plan for the day. We had decided to just play it by ear and go and just see what we could find. It actually worked out great because we weren't stressed trying to hit a bunch of things on a list. We just had fun and worked our way from one place to another and got to see quite a bit. There is a subway station right there as you get off the ferry so we decided to buy an all day fun pass for the subway and bus system and just hop on and go. We looked at the map and the World Trade Center site was pretty close to where we were so we decided to head there. We hopped on the subway and Isaac LOVED it! We didn't have a subway map yet (the station we were at was out) so we were just guessing which station to get off at and we went too far. Well it just so happened that we walked a block and we were at Canal Street. For those of you who don't know Canal street is famous for buying knock off purses, sunglasses, watches, shirts and pirated movies. It was on my list of places to go before we leave so I was excited to get to see it for a minute on our first trip. I am already planning my plan of attack and my trip back to Canal street.
We spent a lot of time on the subway. Most of it was on purpose. We had a few moments that we got confused but it was mostly due to Jeff and I confusing eachother. The subways were actually really great to get around on and there was surprisingly usually someone asking us where we were trying to go and would guide us in the right direction. I did not expect people to be that helpful in NYC. Gracie got a little afraid on the first few Subway rides but after that seemed to be fine.
